We traveled across the Chott el Djerid, the largest of the Tunisian salt lakes (or more accurately, a salt pan). It had just drizzled a bit, so the salt is not as white in this picture as it might seem normally. The reflective nature of the salt creates a shiny surface when viewed from afar, creating the illusion of water. The perfect place to find mirages!
