The infamous gold burial Mask of Agamemnon discovered at Mycenae in 1876 by Heinrich Schliemann over the face of a body located in a burial shaft at the site. Modern archaeological research indicates that it is from 1550-1500 BC, which means it could not have been for Agamemnon. However, the name still stuck.
