The Areopagus - a rocky hill just northwest of the Acropolis. This was used as a meeting place for the senate of Athens, and later as a place for homicide trials. Later, in Roman times, it was known as Mars Hill, and this is one of the many locations across the Mediterranean that the Apostle Paul is said to have preached.
